Why Choose Us for Your Yoga Teacher Training in Nepal?
Choosing the right yoga school is one of the most important decisions you will make when beginning your yoga teacher training journey. You are joining a trusted yoga school with more than two decades of experience, experienced teachers, an established teaching system, and a genuine commitment to helping students experience yoga as a way of life.
Mandala Yoga Retreat is one of Nepal’s leading yoga academies, dedicated to authentic yoga education and teacher training. At a time when Hatha Yoga was widely practiced and taught in Nepal, while modern approaches were still uncommon, we were among the first to introduce new approaches to yoga education. 20 years ago, we introduced Vinyasa Yoga and Restorative Yoga Teacher Training in Nepal while continuing to horon and preserve the traditional teachings of Hatha Yoga.
Today, we remain committed to offering authentic, comprehensive, and transformative yoga education for aspiring and experienced teachers.
Our long experience has given us a deep understanding of both the traditional roots of yoga and the development of modern yoga teaching. We combine authentic yogic knowledge, practical experience, and scientific teaching methods to provide a balanced education that respects the ancient tradition while preparing students for the needs of today’s yoga world.
Students from around the world choose Mandala Yoga Retreat and recommend us to their friends and family because of the following reasons:

200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Curriculum
Our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training curriculum is thoughtfully designed to meet Yoga Alliance standards while preserving the timeless wisdom of traditional yoga schools and the teachings of legendary sages. We believe that clarity is essential for effective learning, so every subject is clearly outlined, detailing what is taught and how. From theory to practice, our goal is to provide students with a deep understanding of every element of their training. Explore the art of movement, breath, and balance while learning to integrate yoga into daily life. During this course, you will practice four different types of yoga, all rooted in the principles of Hatha Yoga. Below are the Yoga Styles and Practices that You'll Learn with Us:
· Hatha Yoga – The Foundation of Yoga
Hatha is the foundation of all other yoga styles, the root from which every practice grows. Begin with beginner-level Hatha to build a strong foundation, then progress to intermediate levels. Once you have mastered Hatha, you can easily explore other types of yoga, using it as your base for deeper practice.
· Beginner Yoga
Our Beginner Yoga classes are designed for everyone. You will start with basic exercises and simple, relaxing poses to build a strong foundation for your practice. Under the guidance of our experienced teachers, you will also learn how to practice and teach yoga for beginners effectively.
· Restorative Yoga
Gentle and deeply relaxing, restorative yoga relieves stress and stiffness. Starting with these soothing sessions, you'll cultivate mindfulness, subtle alignment, and breath awareness before progressing to more vigorous styles. Learn restorative yoga under the guidance of an experienced teacher, preparing you to teach it confidently.
· Vinyasa Yoga (Flow Yoga)
Vinyasa, also known as Flow Yoga, is a dynamic practice that links movement with breath in graceful, flowing sequences. This powerful style builds strength, stamina, and flexibility. Once foundational styles are well established, you'll learn to create and teach your own Vinyasa sequences.
· Yoga Philosophy & History
Explore the roots of yoga through ancient texts and teachings. You'll gain a deeper understanding of yoga's purpose, history, and spiritual foundation — connecting past wisdom to modern-day practice.
· The Eight Limbs of Yoga
Learn about the Eight Limbs of Yoga from Patanjali's Yoga Sutras — a powerful guide for living a meaningful and balanced life. These include ethical principles, personal discipline, breath control, focus, and deep meditation.
· Chakra System
Study the seven main chakras — energy centres in the body that influence your physical, mental and emotional well-being. You'll learn how to recognize imbalances and use yoga, breath, and meditation to bring harmony to your energy system.
· Mantra & Prayers
Discover the power of sound through sacred mantra chanting. You'll learn the correct Sanskrit pronunciation, the deeper meanings behind the chants and how these vibrations affect your mind, energy and inner peace.
· Meditation Techniques
Practice a variety of meditation methods to quiet the mind, improve focus, and deepen self-awareness. Through guided sessions, you'll experience how meditation can help reduce stress and bring greater clarity, calm, and connection.
Breath, Energy & Cleansing Practices
· The Science of Pranayama (Breathwork)
Discover the power of conscious breathing to energize the body, calm the mind and restore balance. You'll explore a variety of pranayama techniques, learning when and how to use each one, as well as how to teach them safely to others.
· Bandhas & Mudras
Learn how to apply bandhas (internal energy locks) and mudras (symbolic hand gestures) to deepen your yoga, breathwork, and meditation practice. These tools help enhance energy flow, mental focus, and inner awareness during spiritual and physical practices.
· Shat Kriyas (Yogic Cleansing Techniques)
Practice six classical yogic cleansing techniques that help detoxify the body, improve energy flow, and promote inner harmony. Techniques such as Neti, Dhauti, and Kapalabhati are taught with step-by-step guidance to ensure safety, comfort, and effectiveness.
Anatomy, Therapeutics & Yogic Lifestyle
· Yoga Anatomy & Physiology
Learn the essential basics of how the body works in yoga. We focus on only what's truly important — to help you teach safely, understand the muscles and joints in key poses and avoid injuries in your practice and classes.
· Therapeutic Yoga
Discover how yoga can support healing for common physical, mental and emotional challenges. You'll learn how to adjust yoga postures, breathing techniques and relaxation practices to help with back pain, anxiety, stress, joint issues, and more.
· Yogic Nutrition & Sattvic Diet
Explore the yogic and Ayurvedic approach to food as a form of healing and energy. You'll learn the basics of a sattvic (pure and balanced) diet, the role of nutrition in supporting your yoga practice, and how mindful eating supports a healthy body and peaceful mind.
Teaching Method & Practice
· Asana Practice & Class Sequencing
You will learn how to plan and lead a yoga class step-by-step. This includes how to use props, give support to different students, practice proper body alignment and create safe and balanced yoga routines. You'll also learn how to teach students of different levels in the same class.
· Planning Lessons & Teaching Different Students
We will show you how to create yoga lessons for all kinds of people — different ages, body types, and health conditions. You'll practice how to give clear instructions, demonstrate poses, keep students safe and make sure everyone enjoys the class.
· Practice Teaching Real Classes
During the course, you will get a chance to teach real yoga classes inside the school. Our teachers will watch and give you helpful feedback so you can improve. This will build your confidence and help you feel ready to teach after you finish the course.
